Being the youngest daughter to survive, she assumed the role of many of her generation, caretaker of her parents i their old age. I do not know much about the years between their death and those approaching World War II. Aunt Arlie worked at Douglas Aircraft - now Tinker Field - during some of those war years gaining her the title "Rosie the Riveter" as many thousands of women left their homes to become a part of the war effort.

I always loved the story of Aunt Arlie doing her part in the war time. Not many women served back in those days in the service as do today but many helped in many ways. I feel like this was Aunt Arlie's way to serve her country.
